Recreation Ground Facilities
During the lock down people have really enjoyed the outdoor spaces in Cottenham and particularly the Recreation Ground. It’s great to see the tennis courts being used more and the groundsman is working hard to maintain them. To obtain the access code for the courts please contact Jo at clerk@cottenhampc.org.uk or call 07503 328401 (between the hours 9am-3pm, Mon-Fri). NB: The code changes monthly. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been installed for your use and you can find a copy of the Lawn Tennis Association guidelines for playing during Covid on the Parish Council website.
Additionally the skatepark is now open. A sign detailing the guidelines for use as advised by Skateboard England is displayed and again there is a hand sanitizer dispenser available. For safety purposes please don’t take glass bottles into this area.
Obviously due to increased use of the facilities it may sometimes mean, particularly at weekends, that the bins are full. If this is the case then please leave any rubbish in a bag next to the bin or, better still, please take it home with you.
At the time of writing the Government still isn’t permitting playgrounds to open. In preparation for re-opening some of the toddler play equipment has been reinstated in a temporary location next to the existing playground, and we’re looking forward to seeing all the equipment back in use as soon as guidelines allow
The village’s outdoor facilities are providing a welcome escape for many during this time. You can help to keep them safe for everyone by enjoying them responsibly and observing Government guidelines.
